A way for family and friends of Pat Mensing to keep up with her.

Here we go again.

I might elaborate on this later, but for now, here's the basics:

- Mom is going to have surgery because her port needs to be moved. She has a scab on it, and two oncologists think that's caused by some of the chemo liquid falling on her skin.

- Her CA-125 went up 100 points, so she'll start a new chemo drug in March (her body needs a break after six rounds). This one is going to make her hair fall out quickly.

Here's the elaboration... surgery will be on the 22nd of this month. I'll be able to drop her off and pick her up, and she's taken care of, but that's the deal with that.

As far as I can tell, there are only three options left for her chemo. I could be wrong, but this is what I'm gathering. The reason there's only three left is because they can't give Mom oral chemo, as they don't know what dose to give her... they don't know how much her body would actually be absorbing, because of the ostomy. So this chemo is the least of the three evils. All we can do now is wait to see what happens from there. God bless, and Mom sends her thoughts and love.

Update to the elaboration: surgery had to be put off until the 29th.
