There's a new drug that has been used on lung cancer that has also worked on ovarian cancer. It's just once every three weeks, so we're gonna give it a shot.

Change is in the air

Mom's count went up about 45 points, so she'll talk to the doctor on Friday about what to do next.

Adjusting things

The first round of this chemo drug, Mom had the full dose of three days. It hit her a little hard, so she was bumped down to two days per round. After her third round (one full and two partials), her count went up 90 points. So going back to trying three days is the new game plan. Hoping this works.

Waiting for a pattern

Mom's count went down to 438. So that's 100 points the first time, and 40 the second. I'm holding out to see what the third round brings (chemo starting Tuesday) to see what pattern emerges. Until then, I'm just glad it's still going down. =)

So far, so good

After her first round of this new chemo drug (which was rather tough on her... her blood counts never really got up to normal), her CA-125 is 476, so that's positive. I shaved her head again last week... her hair was falling out enough that it was bugging her.

She starts round two on Tuesday, so all that's left is wait and see. Keep her in your prayers, she's hanging tough.

We will, we will rock you

Mom had her surgery today to have her port moved, and the nurse told me that when she woke up in recovery, she was singing Queen's "We Will Rock You". She was happy and chatting when I saw her, and then the pain meds starting tiring her out. When she got home, she grabbed some Gatorade and went to bed.

She's decided to move up her chemo from March to Monday. She didn't want to give the cancer too much time to move back in, so she'll just wear warm hats when she goes out. =)
